About This Residency

Stiwdio Maelor offers artist residencies and creative workshop retreats in the Snowdonia National Park, Wales. Maelor's year-round artist residency programme welcomes visual artists, writers, musicians and creatives of all kinds. Whether time is needed to focus on a project or a need to reconnect with your practice in a peaceful, inspiring setting, Maelor offers stimulating creative retreats in Wales. Maelor also hosts workshop retreats or one-on-one teaching in printmaking, landart and weaving.

Experience & Atmosphere

Artists are provided with a studio with an attached bedroom. The dining room, kitchen and bathroom are shared. Artists focus on their work and explore the local area - the wonderful hikes, the small villages and the nearby market towns of Machynlleth and Dolgellau.

Mission & Goals

The aim of Maelor is to provide a space for artists to create work, interact with other artists and explore the stunning local area in an old mining area. We support all levels of creativeness and all types and style of work.
